Welcome to The Hotelier: A Journey in Hospitality

Updated: Dec 29, 2025

Hello and welcome — I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Chimara, and I am the founder and owner of The Hotelier. My purpose is simple: to add a piece of luxury to hotel professionals' everyday lives. I aim to elevate routines with beautifully designed tools that reflect the excellence they deliver every day.

My Journey in Hospitality

For more than 15 years, I’ve lived and breathed hospitality. I’ve worked in various roles, from operations running my own property to behind-the-scenes in housekeeping. From hotels to cruise ships, I've nearly done it all. I understand the grind, the pressure, and the deep sense of pride that comes with serving others.

Why I Started The Hotelier

The idea for The Hotelier came from a personal need. One night, while mindlessly scrolling on social media, I realized, "I need a new planner." As the year was ending and the quarter was coming to a close, I had several planners serving different needs. I wanted something that not only met all my requirements but also catered to hospitality professionals.

I Googled "planner for hotel professionals," searched Amazon, and browsed social media, but I found nothing close to what I envisioned. I thought, "Wait... did I just come up with something?" And thus, The Hotelier was born. I wanted to create planners and notebooks that also provided a space built for our community. We juggle demanding schedules, balance guest expectations, and manage constantly moving pieces. Yet, we rarely have resources designed with that in mind.

What Hospitality Means to Me

To me, hospitality has never been just about perfectly folded sheets or polished silverware. It’s about creating an environment where people feel welcome, cared for, and respected — whether they’re guests checking in or staff who make it happen daily.

Authenticity is at the heart of true hospitality. It’s the smile you give when you’re exhausted, going out of your way to provide an experience, or offering an empathetic ear. It’s the teamwork that keeps operations flowing, even when things don’t go as planned. It’s respect — for the guest, for the team, and for the craft.

That’s the spirit I want The Hotelier to reflect.
